A plainclothes policeman has been stabbed in rural Victoria.
The officer approached a car in the car park of a fast food outlet in the Ballarat suburb of Wendouree about 9.30pm on Thursday (AEST), when a male passenger in the car began a physical fight with the officer, a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
The policeman used pepper spray on the man, before a woman got out of the car and joined the fight.
Police allege she pulled a knife when a second plain-clothes officer intervened.
He was stabbed in the face and leg.
He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Three people - two men and a woman - were arrested and are being questioned.
