An artwork by Bannockburn artist Odelle Morshuis has been given to the Dunedin Public Libraries to commemorate the centenary celebrations of the libraries in 2008.
The Dunedin Public Library Association gave the abstract work, titled Assimulation Series, Number 9, which was unveiled at Dunedin City Library this week.
The library association was formed in 1890 by a group of citizens keen to see a free public library established in Dunedin.
The association lobbied successfully for the Carnegie Library to be established in 1908, and for the Dunedin City Library in 1981.
