Otago polytechnic campus project manager Tracey Howell and learning environment director Mike Collins celebrate after the new atrium on campus was unveiled yesterday.
They welcomed dozens of students and staff who attended the ceremony.
The atrium connects the polytech's H Block building and the Mason Centre.
Mr Collins thanked students and staff for their patience during construction, saying he knew ''the noise disruptions have been immense''.
''A big shout-out to the nursing students, you've been through a lot,'' he said.
''I hope you enjoy and that it will exceed the expectations you all had.''
The atrium will have its official opening next February.
