Organisers yesterday launched the programme for this year's Dunedin Writers and Readers Festival, to be held in the city from May 9 to 12.
Included in the line-up of more than 60 writers and performers are Ireland's John Boyne, author of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and A Ladder to the Sky, and Australian writer Markus Zusak, author of The Book Thief and Bridge of Clay.
Australian feminist blogger and author Clementine Ford is also in the mix as well as her fellow countryman children's author Morris Gleitzman.
Programme director Claire Finlayson said the eight international acts the festival attracted this year was the most ever.
''There's such a mix from all over the world.
''So paired with our New Zealand contingent, I just think it's going to add so much excitement to Dunedin.''
