A car fire is fully extinguished by a Fire and Emergency New Zealand firefighter at the BP service station in Cumberland St, Dunedin, about 2.30pm yesterday.
A Fenz spokeswoman said one fire appliance from Dunedin Central attended, but on arrival found the fire had been quelled.
Firefighters then took steps to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.
The cause was not known, the spokeswoman said.
Police were called to assist with traffic control at the site.
