A crumpled car at the scene of a crash on State Highway1 near Waitati yesterday.
A police spokeswoman said officers were called to reports of a car hitting a tree between Waitati and Evansdale about 12.30pm.
Two people were extracted from the vehicle, she said.
A Hato Hone St John spokesman said both were taken by ambulance to Dunedin Hospital with moderate injuries.
