Rob Roy Dairy ice cream server Jamie Muir said every day was a nice day for ice cream and it did not matter what the weather was doing.
Despite the frigid, bone-chilling weather in Dunedin, people were still queuing up George St to get their fix of enormous ice creams.
"There’s a lot more people at night-time that come in for some reason, even when it’s colder."
He said the parlour started getting busy after lunchtime and lines were out the gate by 7pm.
More than 100 people were lining up on any given night.
"There’s just so many people it’s ridiculous."
When it got busy, it was an intense environment to work in but really fun at the same time.
"It’s just a huge rush, full of adrenaline."
Every server had their own individual scooping technique.
The only requirement was to get the scoops as spherical as possible.
The hot brownie sundae was the most popular choice at present.
"Everyone loves it because it’s hot and everyone can just go out and eat it and take it wherever they like."
