The special cruise of all-American vintage cars was part of the Children’s Cancer Foundation Christmas party on Saturday.
Santa made a special appearance ahead of the party, and rolled in on his shiny red — and possibly upgraded — sleigh, with red shoes and suit to match.
"Whoa!" Samson exclaimed as he walked out the doors of the Edgar Centre on Saturday to see the vintage cars lined up for the surprise trip.
He pointed to a red Ford and said it was his favourite of the bunch because it "goes fast".
Stateside Streeters Inc cruise director and event organiser Paul Barron said the club had teamed up with the Children’s Cancer Society to give the children a ride in the cars around the city ahead of the yearly Christmas party.
He said more than 20 children and caregivers had signed up to take part in the cruise, which took the children from the Edgar Centre, through the Octagon, to the Esplanade and back to the centre, where they enjoyed the early Christmas lunch, and presents from Santa Claus.
