DCC confirms Citifleet settlement

The Dunedin City Council has confirmed a confidential settlement has been reached over the long-running $1.5 million Citifleet fraud.

The council yesterday confirmed a settlement had been reached following a meeting with representatives of Brent Bachop's estate.

"Representatives of the Brent Bachop estate and the Dunedin City Council have met in relation to issues arising from the Citifleet investigation.

"All outstanding matters between the parties have been resolved and settled under a confidential settlement," council group chief financial officer Grant McKenzie said.
