The result of complaints about the conduct of Dunedin Mayor Jules Radich and city councillor Carmen Houlahan could be known today.
The complaints about possible breaches of the code of conduct were discussed by the Dunedin City Council behind closed doors yesterday.
Both arose from the fallout of a censure of Strath Taieri Community Board chairman Barry Williams, who racially abused a woman at a pub.
The complaint about Mr Radich is understood to relate to a radio interview about the censure.
The mayor ended up apologising for minimising the significance of the racial slur.
Complaining about the mayor’s conduct led to then deputy mayor Sophie Barker standing down from the role.
In September, Cr Barker said she had received "17 awful" text messages from Cr Houlahan relating to the complaint about the mayor.
Both the complaints about the mayor and Cr Houlahan were looked into by Jordan Boyle, of Dyhrberg Drayton Employment Law.
