Dunedin’s central fire station will get a new lick of paint for the first time in more than a decade.

Senior Station Officer Kerry McNamara said scaffolding on the Castle St side of the 86-year-old building started to go up on Monday.

He did not know how long the maintenance would take, but was pleased the frequently photographed building would get a facelift.
