Five young men have been arrested following the burglary of a residential unit at Hawksbury Estate, near Waikouaiti, on Monday night.
Senior Sergeant Bruce Ross said the men allegedly scaled a fence to break into a property, before they took items from a unit.
The men, aged 18 or 19 years old and from Dunedin and Balclutha, were arrested as they were driving back to Dunedin, Snr Sgt Ross said.
They have been bailed to appear in the Dunedin District Court this week.
