A 100-year-old villa, cut in half, is  removed from 129 Harbour Tce by two trucks in Dunedin yesterday.

King House Removals director Warren Willis, of Invercargill, said a Bangkok-based developer had bought the student flat to move to a section at Earnscleugh,  Central Otago.

The hardest part of the move was remaining "vigilant" in the student quarter.

"You never know what they’re up to," Mr Willis said.

The villa was expected to arrive in Alexandra at 11pm yesterday.

The three-bedroom villa would be replaced on the site by student flats.
