Gunshots turn out to be trapshooting

Half a dozen police cars descended on Stedman Rd in Mosgiel early yesterday afternoon after a report of gunshots in the area.

A police spokeswoman confirmed police received a report of gunshots fired on a property in Hazlett Rd about 12.40pm.

However, after speaking to a person at a nearby School Rd address, it was determined trapshooting had been going on on the property.

There were "nil issues" for police.
