A pop-up display of architectural models for a proposed long-term Otago Harbour development has proved popular with visitors to the Toitu Otago Settlers Museum.

A report tabled at yesterday's museum board meeting said the display, titled ''What If? Otago's Harbour Vision'', featured architectural models created by Otago company Architecture Van Brandenburg.

A ''feedback tree'' at the display, in the museum's NZR Lounge, had already received more than 3000 responses from visitors, museum director Jennifer Evans said in the report.

There had been a ''particular focus'' on a proposed pedestrian overbridge, which also featured in the DCC's 10-year plan.

Given the museum's close proximity to the proposed development, this had proved a ''great opportunity for the museum to become a venue for discussions about the future of our city'', Ms Evans said.

The discussions had particularly focused on the city's harbour and heritage precincts,''of which we are such an important component'', she said.
