International music heavyweights Coldplay have placed a classified advertisement in several New Zealand papers today ahead of the launch of their upcoming album next month.

The classified appearing in the Otago Daily Times is titled Everyday Life by Coldplay and features the tracklist for the new double album.

Reports are surfacing the classified has appeared in other papers around the world.

Variety.com reported the band, which has been largely off the radar for the past few months, began teasing a new album last week.

The band posted to Twitter saying "for the last 100 years or thereabouts we have been working on a thing called Everyday Life.

"In the classifieds you might write 'double album for sale, one very careful owner'."

The artwork isn’t the only old-school thing about the album, Variety reports.

With two halves divided by theme, Everyday Life seems to be a conceptual double-LP.
