Police said a 3-year-old boy left Marlow Park with his aunt about 1.50pm yesterday and was standing on the footpath near the toilets when a person riding a bike collided with him.
"The boy sustained a broken leg and bruising to his body and head.
"The rider failed to stop and did not provide his details," police said.
The cyclist was a slim male and aged in his 30s to 40s, police said.
He is about 170cm-175cm tall, with a grey/white beard and was wearing orange/yellow top, orange/brown shorts and white shoes.
The mountain bike he was riding was red/orange.
Police said the rider of the bike came from the direction of Victoria Rd and rode up John Wilson Ocean Dr after the collision.
Police would like to speak to the man involved or anyone who saw him around 1:50pm on 3 October.
