At least four cars were involved in separate accidents in Stuart St yesterday morning, falling victim to icy conditions near the Roslyn overbridge.

A police spokeswoman said a crash between two cars blocked some of the street at 7.42am.

There were no injuries, but a tow truck and traffic management were needed.

Otago and Southland residents should wake up to less slippery roads today, due to a drier night paired with slightly warmer temperatures ranging from 1degC to 5degC.

MetService meteorologist Angus Hines said rainfall in Dunedin on Sunday night, combined with a minimum temperature of 3degC, meant frozen roads and slippery conditions.
