The inaugural Otago Food, Wine and Music Festival will be held in Dunedin next month.
The festival would highlight the tastes and sounds of Otago, organiser Rachel Bird said yesterday.
The festival is on from noon to 8pm on November 23. ''It's an opportunity to promote the wonderful food and wines in our region and to use the Forsyth Barr Stadium,'' she said.
''From boutique Central Otago wines to beautiful fresh food and local produce ... this event will bring out the `foodie' in all of us.''
The music line-up will feature the Chills, Matt Langley, Jody Direen, Kylie Price, Hana Fahy, Lee Gray and The Beat, Tom Batchelor and Benny Tipene.
''Punters will be able to bring their picnic rug for the afternoon and just chill out, while enjoying some of the best food, wine and music on offer,'' Ms Bird said.
There would be 75 food, wine and beer stallholders set up around the stadium pitch.
The festival was ''a perfect event for the stadium'', Dunedin Venues Management Ltd chief executive Darren Burden said.
''We're expecting a great day.''
