One of the motorists involved in a four-vehicle crash on Saturday, in which a section of vehicle crashed through another’s windscreen, talks to police.

Three people were taken by ambulance to Dunedin Hospital with moderate to minor injuries.

A police spokesman said emergency services were called to the crash, about 2km from the airport turnoff in East Taieri-Allanton Rd, just after 11am.

One vehicle had rolled and a part of the front section of another car ended up smashing through the windscreen of another.

Police were still determining what caused the crash.

At least three cars were heavily damaged and the road was restricted  to one lane for about an hour while police examined the scene and the vehicles were towed.
