Jewellery theft in central Dunedin

It is understood one man has been arrested after the theft from a George St jeweller just before 10am.

Senior Sergeant Craig Brown says police are "following a positive line of inquiry''.

The thief is believed to have taken an item from the jeweller before fleeing in a vehicle, he says.
