Kaikorai premises burgled

A Kaikorai Valley business was broken into early yesterday, in an incident possibly linked to other commercial burglaries, police say.

A burglar alarm was activated at Pasta d'Oro in Kaikorai Valley Rd about 4am, Inspector Amelia Steel said.

Nothing appeared to have been taken, but that was ''not uncommon'', she said.

''What's been happening with these breaks is tidy searching and the window closed behind them.''

The break-in could be linked to other recent burglaries, such as those in Fairfield and Mornington.

A suspicious vehicle was seen in the area at the time and police inquiries were continuing.

Anyone with information that could help in the inquiry was asked to contact Dunedin police on 471-4800.

Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
