Look at carbon footprint

The Otago Museum's ''responsible operations'' team has recently been making an initial assessment of the museum's carbon footprint, museum officials say.

The team has brought together baseline data focusing on ''scope one and two emissions''.

The first category involves direct emissions and scope two is linked to indirect emissions from generation of purchased energy.

Museum officials said in a recent report that the information gathered would help the museum team to ''accurately establish'' a plan to make museum operations ''even more efficient''.

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
