New Zealand pop star Lorde is headed to Dunedin on her Melodrama World Tour.

Lorde, real name Ella Yelich-O’Connor, will play six shows in four cities during the New Zealand leg of the tour in November.

She is destined for the Dunedin Town Hall on November 7.

Promoter Brent Eccles, of Frontier Touring, said Lorde had chosen smaller, intimate venues for the New Zealand leg of the tour.

"Ella really wants to play small close-up and personal shows to open the campaign up in New Zealand," he said.

"Dunedin’s the biggest show with just over 2000 [tickets available]."

A presale for Frontier Touring members would  open on Wednesday.

General sales begin on June 19.

No other shows could be added, due to her tight schedule, and Mr Eccles recommended those keen on attending the Dunedin show should take advantage of the presale.

He believed there would have been enough demand to sell out Forsyth Barr Stadium if Lorde had wished to play there.

"It will be a high-value, high-production show," he said.

"We are really excited."

Ticket prices start at $77.80.

Lorde will also play shows in Christchurch and Wellington, before closing out the New Zealand leg with three shows at Auckland’s Powerstation.

● Ed Sheeran’s third Dunedin concert is on track to sell out.

Mr Eccles said all allocated seating was now sold and those keen to attend the British hit-maker’s third and final show should get in quick.

"It’s going really well," he said.

Tickets were still available in the standing general admission areas of Forsyth Barr Stadium.
