One person has been taken to Dunedin Hospital with moderate injuries after being hit by a car on George St this morning.
Police were called just before 11am, to the scene of the accident near George Street Normal School.
They were unable to give details of the person injured.
Three police cars were still at the scene talking to witnesses about half an hour afterwards.
St John said the patient sustained moderate injuries in the incident.
Second person hit by car
Meanwhile, a second person has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car, this time in South Dunedin.
Emergency services were called after someone was hit by a car on Hillside Rd, near the intersection with King Edward St.
The incident was reported about 1.55pm.
The patient had serious injuries and was taken to Dunedin Hospital by St John ambulance.
