Mrs John-Moskal began making the dolls when she was six months’ pregnant with her daughter and was looking for something unique to decorate her nursery. After getting "a bit carried away" making too many of them, her husband urged her to start selling the dolls.
She now runs an online retail store called Bandhan NZ and makes custom orders for her clients.
The market was put on by the Port Chalmers Artisan Markets and director Julie Fawcett said the malls’ location gave crafters an exposure to a different audience than they were used to.
There was a variety of stalls, including Pam Deans’ Deans Pantry with pickles, sauces and jams she had made at home.
