Motorcyclist flown to hospital after crash near Hyde

A motorcyclist has been flown to Dunedin Hospital after he came off his bike travelling on SH87 between Hyde and Middlemarch this morning.

Police were called to the crash about 11.40am, a crew from the Middlemarch Volunteer Fire Brigade and St John ambulance also attended.

An Otago Regional Rescue Helicopter flew the man to Dunedin Hospital.

A police spokesman said there were no other vehicles involved in the crash, and the man's condition was not known at this stage.
