Mr Burns blocks out the sun

The Robbie Burns statue in Dunedin's Octagon was sporting a dapper new look yesterday, but it was far from a traditional Scottish tam o' shanter.

A Dunedin City Council spokeswoman said it was unclear if the plastic hat was designed to highlight a particular event in the city or whether it was just a harmless prank.
