No injuries after wind tips side loader at Port Otago

A huge gust of wind sent a side loader toppling over at Port Otago this afternoon.

Port Otago chief executive Kevin Winders said the loader was lifting an empty container when a gust of wind tipped it over.

The loader operator was uninjured and was able to get out of the machine unassisted, he said.

Worksafe has been notified.
