One treated after Green Island house fire

A person was taken to hospital after inhaling smoke during a house in Dunedin this morning.

Two Fire and Emergency crews from Lookout Point and and Roslyn were called to the small house blaze in Green Island at 7.45am.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman Rewai Grace said a person had been able to get out of the house before the crews arrived but had inhaled some smoke.

The fire in the lounge of the house was quickly extinguished.

St John spokeswoman Chrissy Hamilton said the person was transported to Dunedin Hospital in a moderate condition
