Dunedin police are concerned about the wellbeing of a patient missing from Wakari Hospital.
Sergeant Chris McLellan said Darren David Hohepa (43) went missing at 11.30pm last night.
He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue jacket with a white t-shirt underneath and white socks.
He has brown hair, is of a solid build, about 168cm tall, and has a distinctive tribal tattoo on his left arm, Sgt McLellan said.
"We don't believe he is dangerous, but due to his medical status, he needs some help and attention.''
As the man had recently moved to Dunedin, police were unsure if he was familiar with the area and wanted to "urgently locate him for medical reasons''.
The last unconfirmed sighting of him was on Elgin Rd, Mornington, about 5am.
Sgt McLellan urged anyone who saw the man to contact police.
