The death of a person at a property in the Dunedin suburb of Corstorphine  remains unexplained.

Police and forensic staff have worked at the site all weekend.

For a second day, there was a  heavy police presence  at the  Clermiston Ave address yesterday.

Police were called to the  property about 9.30am on Saturday.

A cordon has surrounded the house since then.Police said the death was being treated as "unexplained" while further inquiries were undertaken.

No further information has been provided about the death.

A member of the public told the Otago Daily Times a St John ambulance had been at the address and that police had searched nearby properties.
