Masked man holds up antique store

A masked man has held up a Dunedin antiques store, one of two robberies reported in the city this afternoon.

The first incident occurred about 3.45pm in Stuart St where police were seen entering Sue Todd Antiques.

The Otago Daily Times understands a masked man made a threat relating to a firearm before departing the premises. It is not know what, if anything was taken. 

Just before 4.45pm police responded to reports a Mornington dairy had been robbed.

A police spokeswoman said someone reported they walked in on a robbery in progress at a Elgin Food Market  in Elgin Rd.

The person believed to have robbed the store walked towards Forbes St , she said.

Police were making inquiries at the scene, she said.
