Six-year-old Outram dairy cow Nels Enigma, estimated to weigh about 700kg, walks past children at a King's High School fundraising event yesterday, which included a ‘‘moo poo'' raffle in which participants guessed which square of grass the cow would poo on first.

Whoever held the ticket for the square first defecated on by the animal won $500, and the four ticket holders with adjacent squares each won $200.

It took Nels Enigma more than two hours to deliver, but the ‘‘moo poo'' was deemed a great success, as all 625 of the $5 tickets were sold, generating about $1800 for the school, co-organiser Christiana Funnell said.

A member of the school's parent teacher association, she said 54 vehicles were also entered in a car show, which raised a further $1000 and for which prizes were donated.

The school also sold a couple of hundred sausages and bacon butties, and collected money for the First XV rugby team through a ‘‘dunk the player'' event. A final tally was yet to be confirmed.
