Buying a raffle ticket from the team behind this weekend's Great Kiwi Home & Living Show at Forsyth Barr Stadium could win you one of two sleepouts while raising money for a good cause.

A temporary fundraising stand was set up yesterday in the Meridian mall where the raffle  tickets will be sold this week.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be split between the Otago Community Hospice and the Cancer Society.

Each sleepout is built with material supplied by Placemakers and local partners, and built by staff and students from Otago Polytechnic.

They are worth more than $10,000 each.

The sleepouts will be on display at the show next weekend. Callum & P from the Hits radio station designed and decided on accessories for them.

The raffle will be drawn next Sunday afternoon under police supervision.

Allied Press commercial manager Matthew Holdridge said the sleepouts would add to holiday homes, could be used as an extra room or could be on-sold.

The raffle tickets are on sale until next Friday.
