Relocated war memorial unveiled

Otago Military History Group member Charlie Boyes (left) and KiwiRail Hillside Workshops general manager Alan Hill unveil the relocated war memorial on the workshop grounds yesterday as part of Armistice and Remembrance Day commemorations.

The Hillside war memorial wall holds large historic granite plaques listing the names of Hillside Workshop workers who were killed in World Wars 1 and 2.

The event serves as a day for remembering those who have died in all wars and conflicts around the globe.
