Reading is opening its Dunedin cinema on July 24 after an extensive revamp of the former Hoyts cinema in the Octagon.
The cinema's grand opening will come almost a year after Hoyts closed, leaving Dunedin with only one major cinema.
In announcing the opening date online, Reading said its new cinema would include four traditional screens and two dine-in ''premium screens'' featuring ''plush wide-body seats''.
The cinema would be fully licensed and sell hot food.
Reading Entertainment managing director Wayne Smith, of Melbourne, previously said the revamping of the former Hoyts site was a ''multimillion-dollar'' project.
