Rotary Club of Milton tramps in $5,000 to help

Proving the Otago Community Hospice really is a regional facility, the Rotary Club of Milton has made a $5000 donation to the organisation.

President Vivienne Galletly believed the hospice was a good cause and worthwhile supporting.

"It [the donation] is consistent with Rotary's goal of helping people in need," she said.

The hospice supported people from Milton and she knew the money would help the community.

The donation was raised through the club's tramping group.

Each member was charged to attend excursions, the proceeds were donated to charities every year.

The club had not given money to the hospice for a while and noticed the Otago Daily Times' "Help the Hospice" campaign and decided to take action, Ms Galletly said.
