Shed fire spreads to scrub

A fire at a Careys Bay shed spread to nearby undergrowth before being brought under control by firefighters yesterday.

Appliances from Port Chalmers, Ravensbourne and Dunedin were called to the Slant St property at 4.21pm.

A Dunedin City Council water tanker was used to help with the blaze, as windy conditions threatened to spread the fire.

Portable pumps were used and the fire was extinguished by 5.10pm.
