Stadium preferred contractors shortlisted

Companies vying for the role of preferred contractor for Dunedin's planned Otago Stadium project have been reduced to a shortlist of five.

The Carisbrook Stadium Trust announced last month it was seeking a main construction contractor, subcontractors and suppliers and had selected Arrow International as its project partner.

Yesterday, trust development director Darren Burden said the five included a mixture of Dunedin and New Zealand companies.

Tenders and guaranteed maximum cost details would be examined with the successful company expected to be unveiled next month, he said.

Registrations of interest also closed yesterday for companies wanting to work as subcontractors and suppliers on the $188 million stadium project, he said.

A database of 100 or more interested parties would be compiled.
