A dashcam has captured the moment a dodgy driver races along the newly installed cycle path in Castle St (left) on a busy Friday afternoon before swerving back into traffic and passing (right) another car outside of the Toitu Otago Settlers Museum.
The footage, taken by Nick Rutledge on his dashcam, shows a car being driven in the cycleway in Castle St, then swerving through the traffic near settlers museum.
Mr Rutledge said he reported the incident to police who had since reviewed the footage.
A police spokesman said it was an opportunity to remind drivers roads were not race tracks and everyone had the right to safety when travelling from place to place.
Anyone who witnessed dangerous driving should report it immediately, the spokesman said.
