The couple won the TV after Mr Webster completed a sudoku puzzle and his wife posted the entry.
Mrs Webster said they picked up the ''beautiful and clear'' television from Arthur Barnett earlier this week.
Mr Webster said he had completed every sudoku on the puzzle page and they took him between half an hour and half a day to finish.
Mrs Webster said she had completed every code cracker on the puzzle page and they took her about 30 minutes to finish.
The new television replaced their smaller television and fitted perfectly in the corner of their living room, which they had recently painted.
Otago Daily Times marketing co-ordinator Jess Peck said nearly 13,000 entries had been received, but the competition was open until the final draw on Saturday. Another television would be drawn tomorrow, she said.
