Two slightly injured as car rolls

A car travelling uphill in Brockville Rd yesterday afternoon rolled after its driver lost control, but ended up back on its wheels, leaving the driver and passenger with minor injuries.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand senior station officer Pete Douglas, of Dunedin, said at the scene that speed and wet road conditions were suspected to be factors in the crash, which happened about 12.30pm between Stretlaw Pl and Cockerell St.

Neither driver nor passenger were trapped, he said.

The Honda sedan was travelling from Glenross towards Brockville when it ran off the road on to a verge near the Cockerell Park Recreational Reserve. It rolled once, before ending up back on its wheels, facing downhill.

St John spokesman Gerard Campbell said the two occupants were treated at the scene for minor injuries, but were not taken to hospital.

Police also attended and were making inquiries.
