The plastic bag. . . Soon to be extinct, if the new ten cent price is anything to go by.
As the world becomes more ‘green', the plastic bag has been put under the microscope and has been found wanting.
With the cloth bags becoming ever popular, maybe the landfills of the future will only be stocked with the bags dumped by the preceding generation.
So, has the warning of pollution by plastic bag come too late?
Despite the previous warnings of plastic bags lasting for up to fifty thousand years in a landfill, prior generations have gladly disposed of their rubbish without thought; out of sight, out of mind right? The politicians and activists of today don't think so.
So regardless of the endless discussions on the merits of recycling, it will take many more years of endless battles for the people of the world to do something about the environment, and its steady decline.
