A Blenheim woman accused of hijacking a plane and attacking the pilot and two others on board faces a depositions hearing in Christchurch District Court today.
Asha Ali Abdille, 34, was charged with attempting to seize control by force an Eagle Air flight from Blenheim to Christchurch on February 8.
She also faces charges of wounding the pilot with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and injuring a man and a woman with intent to injure. The injured people suffered stab wounds.
Abdille, a Somalian refugee listed as a vineyard worker, has been in custody since her arrest and during that time has been the subject of a series of psychiatric reports.
The hearing has been set down for three days.
