A Mataura man is likely to face charges after allegedly threatening to blow up his local bank, police say.
Senior Sergeant Ian Temple, of Dunedin, said the 24-year-old became "upset at the service" being provided by a national banking call centre about noon today.
"[He] suggested he should come along and blow [the bank] up."
The branch the man was referring to was in Gore, but Snr Sgt Temple would not name the bank.
Telephone-related charges were likely, he said.
