Dux de Lux manager Brendon Mitchell said yesterday a dozen canines had been registered and there was provision for up to 15 to take part in the show, which will be held on the Marine Pde lakefront, at 1.30pm.
The dogs will take on an obedience challenge, a dog-food eating round, an obstacle course involving empty beer kegs and perform their own special trick under the watchful eyes of three judges, including representatives from the Church St bar, the Royal New Zealand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) and Pets n Vets.
The Queenstown veterinary clinic will donate treats and prizes for all the canine entrants.
Registration costs $10 and a barbecue will be available, for donations, after the show at Dux de Lux, where covers duo Calico will perform. Proceeds will go towards construction of an RSPCA dog shelter in the resort.
