A driver has been caught speeding at 163 kmh in thick fog on the Waikato Expressway this morning.
Police have blasted the man, saying conditions were so poor that even driving at the legal 100kmh speed limit was too fast.
"With 100-200m visibility in the fog the legal speed limit is not okay this morning in the Waikato," posted the highway patrol.
The male driver now faced a charge of dangerous driving and has lost his licence for 28 days.
Police put out a stern warning to drive safer.
"Don't be this guy. Right now this guy wishes he wasn't this guy. #nomoredrivesies," police posted.
