Father guilty of posting nude pictures of daughter on internet

An Otaki man has been convicted of posting semi-nude pictures of his 14-year-old daughter on the internet.

The man, 45, who has name suppression to protect the identity of his daughter, was today found guilty in Wellington District Court on nine counts of making objectionable material.

He was found not guilty of counts of possessing objectionable material involving bestiality and urination.

The Crown said that between 2007 and 2008 the man either took or directed his daughter to take pictures of herself with her breast exposed.

He then posted one of the pictures on a website on which visitors give breasts ratings out of 10, showing his daughter what ranking she got.

In court today, defence counsel Steve Gill summed up, arguing the accused's daughter was lying and took all the photos herself with the intention of sending them to her then boyfriend.

The man was remanded on bail for sentencing on November 16.
