Firefighters battling Christchurch factory blaze

Firefighters are battling a large fire at a factory in Christchurch tonight.

Emergency services were called to the fire in the two-storey factory building on Blenheim Rd at about 7.19pm, Fire southern communications shift manager Brian Sharpe said.

The factory was well ablaze and crews from five engines and a command unit were battling to control the fire, he said.

No hazardous materials were believed to be in the factory, Mr Sharpe said.
